This person will investigate medication errors based on severity, or potential severity, in order to improve medication systems and staff performance. The MSDO actively engages early adoption of nationally recognized best practices (ISMP, NCCMERP, ASHP, JCAHO, etc.) for medication safety and directs the work of the Medication Safety Committee to promote and sustain best practices on the safe use and reporting of medications.
