**Description:** Under the direct supervision of the Supervisor, Home Care, the RN, Home Care is responsible for providing direct care and coordinating other disciplines to meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the patient. Care may be provided in various settings that the patient calls home (i.e. - home, hospital, nursing facilities, and assisted living.) **Qualificiations:** Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Licensed RN in the State of Ohio. Maintains a current CPR certification. One (1) year experience as an RN practicing direct patient care. Hospice or Oncology experience preferred. **Description:** Job Duties: The Instructor follows the course outline for class content. The Instructor presents the information in a clear, concise and logical order to enhance the client's understanding of the concepts. The Instructor demonstrates all exercises, relaxation and breathing techniques as outlined in the course syllabus. The Instructor encourages class participation, is open to questions from clients during and after class and can answer those questions. The Instructor endorses and explains the policies of Akron General Medical Center that are pertinent to Childbirth Education. The Instructor explains the Childbirth Educator's role with various team members, i.e., mother, father or significant other, physician, nurse. The Instructor's teaching demonstrates an understanding of the needs of special groups, i.e., grandparents/siblings/other relatives, the pregnant adolescent, single parents, high risk mothers, adopting parents and parents with communication barriers, and is consistent with AGMC philosophy and practice in obstetrics. The Instructor teaches a minimum of two Childbirth Preparation Class series a year. These two required series may include any of the following: a. Basic Childbirth Preparation Series b. Cesarean Birth Series c. Refresher Series d. Sibling Preparation Class e. Breast Feeding Class f. Breast Feeding Support Group g. Infant/child CPR The Instructor shows evidence of increased knowledge of scientific basis for maternity care and impact of advancing technology by attending workshops, institutes, conferences, keeping up-to- date with current publications and by becoming an active member of a professional organization (preferably AWHONN). Maintains annual mandatory training/competency. Participates in patient safety performance improvement activities and education as requested. **Qualificiations:** Minimum Qualifications: Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing and be licensed as a registered nurse in the State of Ohio. BSN preferred. Must have at least two years of clinical experience in obstetrics. Childbirth Educator Certification in ICEA (International Childbirth Education Association) or LCCE (Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator) is preferred. Must demonstrate teaching ability and knowledge of adult teaching/learning skills. Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
