We are currently searching for a motivated Manager of Digital Farming for our BASF Agricultural Solutions business (AP) in Research Triangle Park, NC.

The Digital Farming Manager for Agricultural Solutions North America is an experienced manager and strategic leader responsible for the long-term definition, development and governance of digital strategy. The Digital Farming Manager is accountable for coordinating with global AP and local markets to determine ecosystem fit for crop specific decision support tools, develop market strategies to commercialize, and integrate digital tools into BASF total solutions. This role has responsibility for leading new business development activities cross-functionally (marketing, agronomy, market development, commercial) and coordinates work of project managers to ensure alignment as solutions are positioned, developed, tested and deployed in US and Canada.
+ Partner with customer experience strategy and corporate communications to develop and deploy a compelling communications plan to bring digital solutions to life
+ Key regional leader in the AP Digital Excellence and in each business unit (US Crop, P&SS, Canada). Key leader in the global digital excellence team. Organizes global core team meetings, actively contributes to executive updates, etc.
+ Identify market drivers, trends, opportunities for digital; develop digital for long-term profitable growth; responsible for investment decision recommendations; managing cross regional core teams, etc.
+ Lead cross-business unit engagement to develop strategies for embedding digital by aligning business strategies for a digital world. Develop digital strategy with clear direction, management, and positioning of key products.
+ Drive alignment and execution across 3 lines of businesses to best position digital for long term growth levers.
+ Lead new business development activities, make brand building strategies and identify potential market segments. Conduct financial evaluations, NPV, business case, etc.) of digital investments for North America with alignment to global.
+ Liaise with enterprise strategy team to facilitate alignment between digital initiatives and BASF North American Agriculture Solutions strategy imperatives
+ Create dedicated portfolio management for all digital initiatives. Assess portfolio of digital projects for their progress against scope, acceleration plan, timeline, and benefit capture. Develop the portfolio roadmap across the region with responsibility to give clear direction on how digital will be used to grow sales profitably.
+ Understand and communicate regional business priorities to the digital office and to relevant technology functions
+ Develop digital competitive intelligence across industries to inform digital strategy roadmap
+ Act as digital strategy champion and lead communications to internal and external audiences
+ Institutionalize digital governance & steering efforts in the region to foster transparency and sharing/re-use to be more ambitious in the definition of the benefits from digital initiatives
+ Determine regional digital metrics, accelerate roll-out and advance “must win battles”

**_Ingredients for Success: What We Look For in You…_**
+ Master Degree (in Agronomy, Marketing or Business Administration desired)
+ 10 years top tier management consulting experience or new business development experience focusing on technology plus ideally post-consulting experience in an internal strategy, Digital, or digital farming role.
+ 10 years practical technology experience.
+ Proven success working in an innovative environment and in the development of digital products and services.
+ Experience working in a complex global organization with proven effectiveness operating in a global company spanning multiple business units.
+ Understanding of Agronomy and use of IT tools.
+ Effective communication and influencing skills.
+ Strong agricultural business orientation, and marketing knowledge
+ Proven ability to translate broad corporate next generation strategies into clear, specific business deliverables and solutions
+ Demonstrated ability to synthesize the evolving future of the agricultural industry, including developing insights into customer and channel trends and disruptive technology, using data and evidence to define impact on businesses and/or a relevant sector
