Location: Piscataway, New Jersey, United States Relocation Assistance Offered Within Country # 56924 Colgate-Palmolive is seeking aClinical Research Associate/Senior Clinical Research Associate (Periodontist) responsible for leading and coordinating efforts directed towards early stage evaluation of developing technologies for human oral care application, specifically to conduct proof-of-concept clinical studies and in situ assessment of prototype formulae/actives and devices in collaboration with technical and non-technical business partners. The emphasis for this position will be on transfer from the lab to a clinical setting and from proof of concept to claim support-ready. The position is based at our Global Technology Campus in Piscataway, NJ. The candidate will also be required to maintain collaborative efforts with internal and external research partners on the identification and development of new models, as well as in the implementation of established methodologies for testing of technologies and assessment of the potential of early indicators of product efficacy or the progress/onset of oral disease, particular focus on the area of expertise, periodontics. Responsibilties: + Lead early stage clinical programs related to the assessment/screening of new technologies/devices and active ingredients as well as new methodologies + Develop clinical trial protocols, prepare study reports and draft manuscripts for publication. + Identify and lead collaborative efforts in oral care research opportunities with internal and external research partners, serving as a source of expertise in periodontal field. + Actively engage with Colgate technology and business partners to define study requirements. + Stay abreast of the literature, survey and analyze competitors’ activity as evidenced in the public domain and make corresponding recommendations to the oral care clinical team with particular focus on the area of expertise, Periodontics. + Communicate project needs/recommendations and study results with technical and non-technical business partners. + Maintain Good Clinical Practice Documentation and overall strict adherence to Colgate Quality Standards of safety, regulatory, legal, confidentiality and ethics in the conduct of all activities. Requirements: + Certification in Periodontics and at least 2 years of practice or teaching experience in Periodontics with 2 years of experience in oral care clinical research or oral care research + Bachelor's degree at minimum + Experience developing human clinical trial research protocols + Ability to identify and apply the appropriate methodologies and data evaluation techniques to drive subsequent research direction. + Ability to develop a focused research effort and possess good oral and written communication skills. + Ability to interact with multi-functional technical and non-technical personnel and be an effective participant in a team environment + Exhibit good project management skills, ability to multi-task and coordinate projects independently. + Exhibit competencies in analytical/decision making, planning/priority setting, effective communication and driving innovation. + Ability to travel up to 20% of the time Preferred: + Masters in Clinical Research or similar preferred. + Experience in oral care industry desired. + The ideal candidate will possess applied knowledge of established oral care industry indices for evaluation of efficacy of oral care products on the following indications: caries detection, plaque, gingivitis, tooth whitening, dentin hypersensitivity, caries, erosion, supragingival calculus, etc. + Experience publishing peer reviewed manuscripts in high quality oral care journals preferred.
